| 1 | Remove rear center section paneling (1) and loosen right side paneling (2) in area of taillamp | AR68.30-P-4600LW | |
| 2 | Disconnect electrical connector (6) from trunk lid/liftgate control warning buzzer (H4/60) | MODEL 205.0/1 with CODE 871 (HANDS-FREE ACCESS) with CODE 881 (Remote trunk closing) | |
| 3 | Remove housing (3) from body | ||
| 4 | Remove insulation (7) from housing (3) and expose trunk lid/liftgate lock element (M14/31) | ||
| 5 | Unclip wire (11) from bracket (9) and unhook from relay lever (10) | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connector (8) and remove trunk lid/liftgate lock element (M14/31) | ||
| 7 | Mark installation position of lock striker (12) on rear center section (arrows), then unscrew bolts (14) and remove lock striker (12) with wire (11) | ||
| Install | |||
| 8 | Position lock striker (12) with wire (11) on rear center section and unscrew bolts (14) | ||
| 9 | Connect electrical connection (8) | ||
| 10 | Hook wire (11) into relay lever (10) and clip into brackets (9) | ||
| 11 | Insert trunk lid/liftgate lock element (M14/31) into insulation (7) and then install into housing (3) | ||
| 12 | Fasten housing (3) to body | ||
| 13 | Connect electrical connector (6) to trunk lid/liftgate control warning buzzer (H4/60) | MODEL 205.0/1 with CODE 871 (HANDS-FREE ACCESS) with CODE 881 (Remote trunk closing) | |
| 14 | Check adjustment of trunk lid, if necessary adjust trunk lid | AR88.50-P-5200LW | |
| 15 | Remove retainer (13) | When replacing lock striker (12). | |
| 16 | Fasten right side paneling (2) and install rear center section paneling (1) | AR68.30-P-4600LW |
