Adjust front axle toe - AR40.20-P-0264LW

INSPECT Check     
1 Carry out initial measurement   AR40.20-P-0200LW 
  Adjust     
2 Remove front engine compartment paneling and center engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LW
3 Check center position of steering gear (arrow) and center position of steering wheel IMPORTANT The steering gear is in the center position for the steering gear (arrow), when the marking on the cap lines up with the marking on the control valve housing.
If the center position of the steering wheel does not match the center position of the steering gear (arrow):

Move steering wheel by one tooth only.

4 Fix steering wheel in center position using holding device (055); to do this, insert the holding device (055) in front of the sun visor NOTES
Protect the emblem in the steering wheel against damage.
Otherwise the SPECIAL TOOL holding device (055) may make an indent on the emblem.
 
SPECIAL TOOL Retainer device Fig 4
5 Unfasten jam nut (2) of tie rod (1) NOTES
Counterhold the tie rod (1).
The tie rod (1) will otherwise be damaged.
 
6 Adjust toe by turning tie rod (1) IMPORTANT Make sure that the boots are not twisted.  
Total front axle toe at vehicle level *BE40.20-P-1001-07DA 
7 Tighten jam nut (2) NOTES
Counterhold the tie rod (1).
The tie rod (1) will otherwise be damaged.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Jam nut, tie rod to inner tie rod *BA46.40-P-1002-01P 
8 Install front engine compartment paneling and center engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LW
9 Remove holding device (055) SPECIAL TOOL Retainer device Fig 4
INSPECT Check     
10 Carry out final measurement   AR40.20-P-0200LW
