Remove/Install Bracket Boost Pressure Control Aneroid Capsule - Ar09.40-D-1009WE

- Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
REMOVING Remove  - -
1 Remove air intake pipe - AR09.10-D-8131WE 
2 Remove coolant expansion reservoir with attached coolant hoses and electrical line to the FM and set aside - AR20.30-D-4950SD
3 Remove vacuum hose (2) from boost pressure control aneroid capsule (3) - -
4 Unscrew nut (5) from control rod (10) for boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) - -
5 Remove screws/bolts (4) SPECIAL TOOL Plug-in adapter Fig 2
6 Remove bolt (6) and remove bracket (1) with boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) IMPORTANT Lead control rod (10) out of mounting bolts (8) for lever (7). -
7 Unscrew nuts (11) on bracket (1) and remove boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) with insulating washer/sleeve (arrow) from bracket (1) When replacing the bracket (1) -
INSTALLING Install  - -
8 Place boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) with insulating washer/sleeve (arrow) on bracket (1) Only if the boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) was removed from the bracket (1)
IMPORTANT Check insulating washer/sleeve (arrow) for damage; replace if necessary. When putting boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) in place read the control rod (10) through the bore in bracket (1).

9 Tighten down nuts (11) for boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) on bracket (1) and secure with low-friction paint Only if the boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) was removed from the bracket (1)
IMPORTANT Clamp the bracket (1) in a vise if necessary.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Vacuum unit fastening nut on bracket/turbocharger
*BA09.40-N-1009-01R 
10 Position bracket (1) with boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) on the ATL while leading the control rod (10) through the mounting bolt (8) of the lever (7) - -
11 Tighten screw/bolts (4, 6) to stop finger-tight IMPORTANT Replace screw/bolts (4, 6). -
12 Tighten screw/bolts (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Fastening bolts for turbocharger vacuum unit bracket
SPECIAL TOOL Plug-in adapter

13 Tighten screw/bolt (6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Fastening bolts for turbocharger vacuum unit bracket *BA09.40-N-1010-01R 
- Adjust  - -
14 Turn nut (9) on the control rod (10) by about 8 revolutions in the direction of the boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) IMPORTANT in order to achieve the necessary clearance of the control rod (10). -
15 Connect vacuum hose for manually-operated vacuum pump onto the boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) SPECIAL TOOL Hand vacuum pump Figure
16 Generate vacuum using the manually-operated vacuum pump in the boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) until the control rod (10) is completely drawn-in - -
17 Press lever (7) up to the end stop in the direction of boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) and hold - -
18 Screw on nuts (5) up to the stop on mounting bolts (8) on the control rod (10) then release the lever (7) - -
19 Continue to turn nut (5) on the control rod (10) by about 3.5 revolutions in the direction of the boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) IMPORTANT The required pretension is achieved in this way. -
20 Turn nut (9) on the control rod (10) up to the stop on mounting bolt (8) and tighten down IMPORTANT Counterhold nut (5). -
21 Secure nuts (5, 9) with low-friction paint - -
22 Ventilate boost pressure control flap aneroid capsule (3) and remove manually-operated vacuum pump with vacuum hose SPECIAL TOOL Hand vacuum pump Figure
23 Place vacuum hose (2) on boost pressure control aneroid capsule (3) - -
24 Attach set aside coolant expansion reservoir to front module - AR20.30-D-4950SD
25 Install air intake pipe - AR09.10-D-8131WE
