Due to recent events we would like to notify you of the following: If, as part of maintenance or repair work on the above-mentioned vehicles, it is determined that one or more screws for fastening the charge air distributor to the cylinder head are missing or broken, the charge air distributor screws may be replaced straight away.
In this case, the entire replacement of the charge-air distributor is no longer necessary insofar as the charge-air distributor is not damaged.
During this repair work, all 8 screws for fastening the charge air distributor to the cylinder head and the corresponding seals must always be replaced.
The housing and sealing surfaces of the charge-air distributor must also be checked.
The screws to be replaced can be manually pulled out of the removed charge air distributor and new screws then pressed in. A tool is not required for this.
When performing the repair work, the corresponding WIS documents (see table below) must always be taken into account. In particular, the corresponding tightening torques, tightening angles and the relevant sequence for tightening the screws must also be taken into account. The information in the documents stored in XENTRY TIPS (group 09.41) for repair work must also be observed.
