Remove/Install Airbag Unit On Steering Wheel - Ar91.60-D-0660C

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1 Remove ignition key from ignition lock    
2 Remove screws/bolts (1) on rear of steering wheel and remove airbag unit (4) from steering wheel TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, airbag to steering wheel *BA91.60-N-1001-01A 
SPECIAL TOOL Screwdriver bit Fig 1
3.1 Detach horn contact connection line (2) from airbag unit (4) Vehicle without CODE CL4 (Multifunction steering wheel with trip computer)  
3.2 Disconnect electrical connector (5) Vehicle with CODE CL4 (Multifunction steering wheel with trip computer)  
4 Remove electrical connector (3) from airbag unit (4) SPECIAL TOOL Removal lever Fig 2
5 Remove airbag unit (4) IMPORTANT When replacing the airbag unit (4), ensure proper and environmentally friendly disposal.  
6 Replace steering wheel Only if the airbag unit (4) was triggered.

7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Connect diagnostic system and perform quick test    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-D-2000-04SD
9 Read out fault memory of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and delete fault memory
