Remove/install front door window lifter - AR72.10-P-1800LFS

MODEL 222 

with CODE Z07 (Top protection) 

with CODE Z11 (Left front power window with special protection) 

with CODE Z12 (Right front power window with special protection)

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove door module from left and right front door   AR72.10-P-0900LFS 
2 Connect hydraulic unit to power window (1)    
3 Connect power window operating unit to wiring harness on front door    
4 Open side window approx. 5 mm    
5 Mark window at least 5 mm and not more than 7 mm from top edge IMPORTANT See arrow (A) in picture.  
6 Completely close side window on left and right front door and secure against falling down with clamping pliers SPECIAL TOOL Clamping pliers Fig 2
7 Unscrew nuts (3)    
8 Lower power window (1) until nuts (4) are accessible    
9 Unscrew nuts (4)    
10 Release pressure in pressure reservoir for hydraulic power window in front door NOTES
It is necessary to relieve the pressure in the pressure reservoir of the hydraulic window lifter in the front door.
Otherwise the hydraulic line couplings can no longer be connected.

11 Disconnect hydraulic line couplings by pressing spring clips apart    
12 Remove rear bracket (toward B-pillar) for power window (1)    
13 Remove power window (1) together with front bracket (toward A-pillar)    
14 Secure side window from bottom against falling down using suitable support    
INSTALLING Install     
15 Remove support for side window    
16 Install power window (1) with front bracket (toward A-pillar)    
17 Install rear bracket (toward B-pillar) for power window (1)    
18 Replace screw plug for hydraulic liquid reservoir with bleed screw when replacing power window (1).
IMPORTANT If the screw plug on the hydraulic liquid reservoir is not replaced, leakage can occur and the system can fail.
 
19 Install hydraulic fluid reservoir on front door    
20 Install hydraulic unit on front door and connect    
21 Connect CAN box (as control unit replaced) or control unit with power window control unit on power window (1)    
22 Roll power window lift (1) up to side window    
23 Fit the nuts (4) NOTES
Toward the inside there should be distance of 5 mm between the power window (1) and the door liner and at least 3 mm between the window and door paneling (armor plate). Otherwise the power window (1) can be damaged.
 
24 Carefully lift power (1) until power window (1) makes contact with the bottom edge of the side window IMPORTANT When lifting power window (1), ensure that the threaded pins of the side window and the holes in the power window (1) coincide.  
25 Carefully screw on nuts (4) until marking (arrow A) is reached    
26 Center power window (1) on side window (see arrow B and C; refer to Fig 1) NOTES
Center power window (1) in relation to side window.
Otherwise the window guides can be damaged.
 
27 Fit the nuts (3)    
28 Tighten nuts (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, window lifter to front door *BA72.10-P-1018-01Y 
29 Spray nuts (4) and thread with wax IMPORTANT As corrosion protection.
Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can)

30 Tighten nuts (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, side window to window lifter *BA72.10-P-1006-01Y 
31 Remove clamping pliers SPECIAL TOOL Clamping pliers Fig 2
INSPECT Check     
32 Check catches on power window (1) NOTES
Catches should mesh.
Otherwise the power window (1) must be readjusted.
 
33 Carefully extend and retract power window in front door NOTES
Power window should (1) not come into contact with window guides.
Otherwise the window guide can be damaged.
NOTES
The side window should not reach into the upper door frame more than 5 mm.
Otherwise damage may occur.
NOTES
A play of approx. 2 mm should be present between the power window (1) and the brackets for the power window (1).
Otherwise damage may occur.
NOTES
A play of approx. 1 mm should be preset between the power window (1) and the rear armor plate.
Otherwise damage may occur.
 
34 Check whether ball joints are seated correctly in the brackets of the power window (1) NOTES
Ball joints should not make contact with power window.
Noises can otherwise occur.
 
35 Release pressure in pressure reservoir for hydraulic power window in front door NOTES
It is necessary to relieve the pressure in th pressure reservoir of the hydraulic window lifter in the front door.
Otherwise the hydraulic line couplings can no longer be connected.

36 Remove hydraulic liquid reservoir and hydraulic unit from front door    
INSTALLING Install     
37 Install door module on left and right front door   AR72.10-P-0900LFS
