	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Remove/install
1	Remove charger feed socket flap	MODEL 222.163	AR54.10-P-5110LFH
2	Remove rear center assembly paneling	MODEL 222.0/1	AR68.30-P-4600LF
3	Remove left and right cover (9)
4	Unscrew bolts from bumper (1) in openings (arrows A)	When installing first tighten bolts in openings (arrows A). Otherwise the transition from the bumper to the rear fender cannot be adjusted correctly.
5	Loosen left and right side load compartment paneling (10) and press to side
6	Unscrew nuts on bumper (1) in openings (arrows B and C)
7	Detach underfloor paneling at rear	Loosen underfloor paneling at rear until bolts (8) are accessible.	AR61.30-P-1001LF
8	Remove screws/bolts (5, 8)
9	Unclip retaining clip (12) with hose (13)	MODEL 222 with CODE M002 (Engines with turbocharger with charge air cooling)
10	Detach left and right fender liner (2) and push toward side		AR88.10-P-1400LF
11	Remove screw/bolt (3)
12	Disconnect electrical connections (11) and unclip wiring harness	The number of electrical connectors (11) can vary depending on the equipment installed.
13	Remove expansion rivets (4, 7)
14	Remove screw/bolts (6)
15	Unclip bumper (1) from left and right rear wheel arch
16	Unclip bumper (1) at rear fender and in area of taillamp	Helper required.
17	Remove bumper (1)	Helper required.
18	Install in the reverse order
	Check
19	Check gap dimension, adjust if necessary		AR60.00-P-0700-01LF
		Trunk lid to bumper	*BE60.00-P-1017-01BA

20	Check whether active parking assist is ready for operation	MODEL 222 with CODE 235 (Active Parking Assist) Switch on ignition, switch on active parking assist, engage reverse gear and release parking brake. The active parking assist automatically performs a self-test and the operational readiness is signaled via the warning indicators.
21	Check whether blind spot assist is ready for operation	MODEL 222 with CODE 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist) Switch on ignition. The operation and warning indicators in the outside mirrors illuminate red and then yellow.
