	Remove/install
1	Connect diagnostic system and save basic data from left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9)	Only when replacing the left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9).
			AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Switch on ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)
3	Remove front bumper		AR88.20-P-2000NKB
4	Remove bolts (1)
5	Pull out left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9) until electrical connectors (2) can be disconnected	Correct seating of the seal (3) must be ensured.
6	Release and disconnect electrical connectors (2)
7	Remove the left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or the right headlamp control unit (E2n9)
8	Install in the reverse order
	Initial startup
9	Perform SCN coding of left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9)	Only after replacing the left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9).

10	Transfer previously stored basic data to left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9)	Only after replacing the left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9).
11	Perform initial startup of left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9)	Only after replacing the left headlamp control unit (E1n9) or right headlamp control unit (E2n9).
