| 3 | Remove lock screws (1) and reposition | ||
| 4 | Cover center console with a cloth and pull COMAND controller unit (A40/3) or radio out of instrument panel using pulling hooks at lock screws/bolts (1) until white connector (4) is accessible | Fig 4 | |
| 5 | Disconnect white connector (4) from upper control panel control unit (N72/1) | ||
| 6 | Pull COMAND controller unit (A40/3) or radio out of instrument panel using pulling hooks at lock screws/bolts (1) until electrical connectors (2) and black connector (3) on back of unit are accessible | Fig 4 | |
| 7 | Disconnect electrical connectors (2) and black connector (3) and remove COMAND controller unit (A40/3) or radio from vehicle | ||
