| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Remove side paneling in left side of trunk | AR68.30-P-4800LW | |
| 2 | Lift clip (1) with suitable screwdriver and detach trunk lid/liftgate control drive unit (M51/3) from bracket (7) | Otherwise it is not ensured, that the clip (1) is tensioned properly. |

| 3 | Unclip support (2) from ball bearing (3) and pivot trunk lid/liftgate control drive unit (M51/3) toward center of trunk | ||
| 4 | Lift clip (4) with suitable screwdriver and remove trunk lid/liftgate control drive unit (M51/3) | Otherwise it is not ensured, that the clip (4) is tensioned properly. |

| 5 | Disconnect electrical connector (5) | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connector (6) | ||
| 7 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| Normalizing | |||
| 8 | Close trunk lid manually | ||
| 9 | Push and hold down driver trunk lid/liftgate control button in door paneling until trunk lid makes contact with upper stop | ||
| 10 | Then actuate driver trunk lid/liftgate control button for 4 s in the "opening" position | ||
| Check | |||
| 11 | Check driver trunk lid/liftgate control button for proper function |
