	Remove/install
1	Perform initial startup of steering column tube module (1)	Only when replacing steering column tube module (1).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Remove steering wheel		AR46.10-P-0100CW
3	Pry off cover for jacket tube (5) from steering column tube module (1)	Pry off frame for steering column tube cover (5) on latches (arrows) using plastic wedge.
4	Detach steering column tube module (1) from steering column tube (4)	Do not operate the red safety catches in the steering column tube module (1). Otherwise the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contacts (A45) may be destroyed. The steering column tube module (1) contains the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact (A45), steering angle sensor (N49), steering column tube module control unit (N80) and the switch unit. It is one component and can only be removed or replaced complete. Press steering column tube module (1) onto steering column tube (4), until the assembly display (3) has been retracted. Break off transport safety device (2) after installing a new steering column tube module (1).
5	Unclip cable duct with electrical line from leather bag	MODEL 204.9, 207
6	Disconnect electrical connection on steering column tube module (1)		AR54.25-P-2802-02CW
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Perform initialization of DTR control unit	MODEL 204, 207 with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) Only when replacing steering column tube module (1).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
