	Remove/install
1	Remove bottom engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105W
2	Detach exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r) from bracket on the transmission		AR49.10-P-7100W
3	Detach EGR line (5) on exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r)	Replace seal.
		Clamp on EGR line and exhaust gas recirculation valve	*BA14.20-P-1002-01M
4	Remove screw/bolts for NOx storage catalytic converter clamp on exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r)		AR49.10-P-7100W
	Only perform operation step 5 to 14 for removal of the left exhaust manifold with CAT (1l)
5	Remove front engine cover
6	Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit		AR07.08-P-7008W
7	Disconnect electrical connection (6) of the engine wiring harness (2) and unclip engine wiring harness (2) at bracket (11)
8	Unclip engine wiring harness (2) and electrical line on vacuum reservoir (7)
9	Remove vacuum reservoir (7)	Screw/bolt, vacuum reservoir to bracket	*BA43.05-P-1002-01K
10	Unclip electrical connections for oxygen sensors from the holders and disconnect		AR07.52-P-5303W
11	Unclip engine wiring harness (2) on shield (10)
12	Remove oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/3)		AR07.52-P-5303W
13	Remove shield (10) together with bracket (11) and remove upwards; to this remove screw/bolts (11s)		AR07.08-P-7008W
		Only 4 screw/bolts (11s) need to be removed; separation of the bracket (11) and the shield (10) is not required.
14	Detach lower steering coupling from lower steering shaft		AR46.10-P-8000V
	Perform operation step 15 to 18 to remove the right exhaust manifold with CAT (1r)
15	Remove air filter housing	Bolt, air filter to cylinder head cover	*BA09.10-P-1001-01M
		Bolt, air filter to air intake pipe support brace	*BA09.10-P-1002-01M
16	Unclip electrical connections for oxygen sensors from the holders and disconnect		AR07.52-P-5303W
17	Unclip electrical line (13) at mount shield (10)
18	Remove shield (10) on exhaust manifold with CAT (1r)
19	Unscrew nuts for exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r)		AR14.10-P-3000-01MM
		Observe tightening procedure for exhaust manifold.
		Nut, exhaust manifold to cylinder head	*BA14.10-P-1001-01E
20	Remove exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r)	Replace seal and check stud for damage; replace if necessary. Remove left exhaust manifold with CAT (1l) downwards and remove right exhaust manifold with CAT (1r) upwards.
21	Remove oxygen sensor on the right upstream of CAT (G3/4) and oxygen sensor on the right downstream of CAT (G3/6) or oxygen sensor on the left downstream of CAT (G3/5)	When replacing the exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r)

22	Install in the reverse order
	Check
23	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of all components of the exhaust system
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
24	Perform an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness
