DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

3 Deactivate easy entry/exit function for driver's seat and steering wheel IMPORTANT Switch off using the buttons on the steering wheel in the Comfort menu of the multifunction display, see Owner's Manual.  
4 Turn steering wheel to central position (front wheels in straight ahead position) and secure with the retaining device NOTES The steering wheel must not be turned when detaching steering coupling.
Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed.

8 Secure radiator package (1) with tensioning strap (01) to prevent it from falling down    
9 Remove front complete wheels

24 Unscrew bolts (5) and remove bracket (6) If installed.
IMPORTANT Place the pumps and valves to one side with the lines still connected.

25 Detach bracket with front axle valve unit and place to one side with lines still connected Model 217

32 Only lift up engine until engine mounts are relieved of load    
33 Remove upper transverse control arm to steering knuckles   AR33.20-P-0500LF 
34 Position lifting device (02) onto front axle (4)

35 Remove rear connecting struts (10) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear mounting console to longitudinal member *BA33.10-P-1005-01P 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear mounting console to front axle carrier *BA33.10-P-1004-01P 
36 Remove bolts (11) of front axle (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, front axle carrier at front to longitudinal member *BA33.10-P-1001-01P 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, front axle carrier at rear to longitudinal member *BA33.10-P-1002-01P 
37 Carefully lower front axle (4); slide lifting device (02) toward the rear when doing so NOTES Ensure that the hydraulic line (12) does not get hung up on the front axle (4) when lowering. Otherwise, the hydraulic line (12) will be damaged.  
38 Install in the reverse order    
39 Fill and bleed ABC system Model 217
