	Remove/install
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
		The steering column tube module control unit (N80) contains the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact, steering angle sensor, steering column tube module control unit (N80) and the switch unit. It is one component and can only be removed or replaced complete.
1	Remove steering wheel		AR46.10-P-0100GW
2	Pry off cover (4) from steering column tube module control unit (N80)	Pry off frame of cover (4) at latches using the long wedge from the steering column tube module control unit (N80).

3	Detach steering column tube module control unit (N80) from steering column tube	Do not operate red safety catches in steering column tube module control unit (N80). Otherwise irreparable damage will be caused to the fanfare horns and airbag clock spring contact. When the steering column tube module control unit (N80) is in the correct installation position, the assembly indicator (3) is retracted. When installing a new steering column tube module control unit (N80) the transportation lock (2) must be broken off once mounted.
4	Unclip cable duct with electrical line from frame of cover (4)
5	Detach electrical connection from steering column tube module control unit (N80)	The locking clip for the electrical connector is destroyed here and it has to be replaced.	AR54.25-P-2802-02GW
6	Install in the reverse order
7	Perform initialization of DTR control unit with STAR DIAGNOSIS	On vehicles with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS Initialization of DTR control unit only needs to be performed after replacing the steering column tube module control unit (N80).	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
