REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove left door sill moldings    
2 Remove molding from left C-pillar    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR68.30-P-4490EL
3.1 Remove multifunction antenna MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 30.06.11 with CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer), MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 30.06.11 with CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)), MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 31.05.12 with CODE 511 (Audio 50 APS with DVD changer), MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 31.05.12 with CODE 525 (MB Audio 50 APS radio)

IMPORTANT The multifunction antenna is no longer required.
3.2 Remove multifunction antenna mock-up MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 31.05.12 with CODE 510 (Audio 20 CD with CD changer), MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 31.05.12 with CODE 523 (MB Audio 20 radio)
IMPORTANT The removal of the multifunction antenna mock-up is performed in the same manner as the removal of the multifunction antenna. The multifunction antenna mock-up is no longer required.
 
4.1 Remove side bolster of backrest in rear MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# with CODE 287 (Folding rear seat backrests)

4.2 Remove backrest in rear MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# except CODE 287 (Folding rear seat backrests)  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR91.12-P-1620CW
5 Remove left side paneling in rear (2).    
6 Remove radio (A2), radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR82.60-P-7502EW 
7 Remove front center console    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR68.20-P-2000EL
8 Remove upper paneling from left B-pillar and place to one side with seat belt installed    
9 Remove lower molding from left B-pillar    
10 Release driver seat and place toward rear with the electrical lines still connected

11 Remove front trunk lining and right trunk lining    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR AR68.30-P-4600EL
INSTALLING Install     
12 Install new multifunction antenna (A28/11) for comfort telephony MODEL 218.3## (except 218.374/392) 1# up to 30.06.11

13 Prepare wiring harness for comfort telephony (1) for installation   AN82.70-P-0008-09EL

18 Attach the note "Comfort telephony retrofitted as per AN82.70-P-0008EL " under field organization texts to design group 82    
19 Connect diagnostic system and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)

20 Carry out variant coding using software calibration number (SCN) IMPORTANT "Instrument cluster"

21 Disconnect diagnostic system
