Remove/install refrigerant compressor - AR83.55-P-5300SMG

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A

IMPORTANT Notes on handling R134a refrigerant Air conditioning with refrigerant R134a AH83.30-N-0003-01A
1 Turn key in ignition switch to position "0". IMPORTANT On vehicles with code 889, Keyless Go: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off.  
2 Open engine hood    
3 Drain air conditioning system   AR83.30-P-1760SX 
Air conditioner service unit R134a
4 Remove both intake air ducts    
5 Remove front engine cover NOTES Do not tilt front engine cover, but lift upwards vertically otherwise the retaining lugs can break off.  
6 Attach engine hoist   AR33.10-P-0100SX
7 Remove bolts of engine mounts and lift engine TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 216 *BA22.10-P-1001-03C 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 221 *BA22.10-P-1001-03D 
8 Remove electric fan   AR20.40-P-5000SMG
9 Remove poly-V belt   AR13.22-P-1202SMG
10 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift   AR00.60-P-1000SX
11 Remove engine compartment paneling INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install engine compartment paneling only after engine test run. AR61.20-P-1105SX
12 Disconnect refrigerant compressor connector (A9x1)    
13 Remove bolt (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.55-P-1003-01T 
14 Detach refrigerant-pressure line (2) and remove from working area INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings of refrigerant pressure line (2) and moisten with refrigerant compressor oil.  
15 Remove bolt (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.55-P-1003-01T 
16 Detach refrigerant-suction line (4) and remove from working area INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings of refrigerant suction line (4) and moisten with refrigerant compressor oil.  
17 Seal openings of refrigerant-pressure line (2) and refrigerant-suction line (4) using suitable sealing caps and stop plugs NOTES The openings of the refrigerant-pressure line (2) and refrigerant-suction line (4) must be sealed, as otherwise any penetrating dirt and moisture can damage components connected to the refrigerant circuit.  
18 Drain and collect engine oil    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Engine oil and filter change   AP18.00-P-0101SMG
19 Remove double clamp (6)    
20 Remove bolt (7) from engine oil line flange connection (8)    
21 Disconnect engine oil line flange connection (8) IMPORTANT Collect engine oil in reservoir.

22 Remove bolts (5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.55-P-1001-01T 
23 Remove refrigerant compressor (A9) IMPORTANT Place refrigerant-pressure line (2) and refrigerant-suction line (4) to one side. Remove refrigerant compressor (A9) downwards  
24 Install in the reverse order    
25 Check engine oil level and adjust correctly    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Engine oil and filter change   AP18.00-P-0101SMG
26 Refill air conditioning system and inspect for leaks and proper operation.   AR83.30-P-1760SX 
Air conditioner service unit R134a
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

27 Do an engine test run and check for leaks
