Remove/install oil pan - AR01.45-P-7500SYZ

ENGINES 642 in MODEL 221.08/18

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.		 AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003SX
2 Remove engine cover INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of the engine cover. AR01.10-P-2405SXI
3 Remove diesel particulate filter   AR14.40-P-1000SXI
4 Remove transmission with torque converter   AR27.10-P-0500SYZ
5 Remove end cover   AR01.40-P-8913SXI 
6 Attach engine hoist   AR33.10-P-0105SX
7 Remove front axle   AR33.10-P-0100SYZ
8 Remove front axle gear   AR33.30-P-0525SYZ
9 Drain/collect engine oil INSTALLATION NOTES Replace seal on oil drain screw to prevent leakage.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION
Engine 642 except code 474 Particulate filter		 *BA01.45-P-1006-01Q 
FLUID SPECIFICATION
Engine 642 with code 474 Particulate filter		 *BF18.00-P-1001-01A 
FLUID SPECIFICATION *BF18.00-P-1001-01S 
10 Remove front axle differential (2) carrier to oil pan top section (1)    
11 Remove oil pan bottom section   AR01.45-P-7555SYZ 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.45-P-1003-01Q 
12 Remove oil intake tube (3) for oil pump    
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.45-P-1013-01Q 
13 Detach oil dipstick guide tube    
14 Remove A/C compressor (A9) and place to one side IMPORTANT Do not disconnect refrigerant compressor (A9) and electrical connectors.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.55-P-1005-01A 
15 Remove bolts to oil pan top section (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe different bolt lengths and bolt diameters.

16 Remove oil pan top section (1) IMPORTANT Detach oil pan top section (1) using slide hammer puller. Do this by screwing slide hammer puller into thread of oil level switch.
NOTES Tighten slide hammer puller to avoid damaging the thread.

    Loctite 5970 sealant *BR00.45-Z-1013-01A 
CLEAN Clean     
17 Clean sealing surfaces NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper as this will damage the sealing surfaces. AR01.00-P-0050-01A
Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
Loctite 7063 cleaning spray (150 ml) *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
18 Install in the reverse order    
19 Read out fault memory    
  Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
INSPECT Checking     
20 Check engine oil level, and correct IMPORTANT Check engine oil level with engine at operating temperature.
