	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
	Notes on threaded connections with aluminum screws		AH00.00-P-0006-01RM
1	Remove engine covers
2	Remove right charge air ducts		AR09.41-P-8620MMB
3	Unclip vacuum line (3) to coolant line (4)
4	Detach coolant line (4) at timing case cover
5	Disconnect electrical connectors at camshaft solenoids (Y49/5, Y49/7)
6	Unclip electrical line (5) on front cover (1l)
7	Remove bolts (1s) on front cover (1)	Replace bolts (1s).

8	Carefully loosen front cover (1l) at prying lugs and detach to the front	Apply sealant to the front cover (1): ↓
		Observe notes on sealant path for front cover (1l) on cylinder head.	AH01.30-P-1000-02MM

	Clean
9	Clean sealing surfaces on cylinder head, on cylinder head cover and on front cover (1r)	Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper as this will damage the sealing surfaces.	AR01.00-P-0050-01A

		Loctite 7063 cleaning spray (150 ml)	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A
10	Remove camshaft solenoids (Y49/5, Y49/7) from front cover (1l)	When replacing the front cover (1)	AR05.20-P-7295MMB
11	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Carry out engine test run while checking engine for function and oil leaks
