	Remove
	Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism.	Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism.	AS82.30-Z-0001-01A
1	Switch on ignition, move wiper arms (1, 2) to park position
2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from EIS control unit	On vehicles with CODE 889 (Keyless-Go): Press Keyless-Go start and stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
3	Open engine hood and raise to vertical position	MODEL 164	AR88.40-P-1000GZ
		MODEL 166	AR88.40-P-1000GQ
4	Fold up cover and unscrew nut (3) at driver-side wiper arm (1)
5	Detach driver-side wiper arm (1) with wiper blade	Puller	Fig 2
6	Remove caps and unscrew nuts (4) at passenger-side wiper arm (2)
7	Remove passenger-side wiper arm (2) with wiper blade	Puller	Fig 2
	Install
8	Install passenger side wiper arm (2) with wiper blade
9	Install caps and tighten nuts (4) at passenger-side wiper arm (2)	Nut on wiper motor shaft	*BA82.30-P-1002-01J
10	Install driver-side wiper arm (1) with wiper blade
11	Close cover and tighten nut (3) at driver-side wiper arm (1)	Nut on wiper motor shaft	*BA82.30-P-1002-01J
12	Close engine hood	MODEL 164	AR88.40-P-1000GZ
		MODEL 166	AR88.40-P-1000GQ
13	Check and adjust wiper arms (1, 2)		AR82.30-P-6000GZ
14	Carry out function check
			AP82.30-P-8252GZ
