	Remove/install
	Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Remove partition wall between wheel wells	ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 251	AR62.30-P-2400RT
2	Remove windshield wiper system	ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 251	AR82.30-P-6400RT
3	Switch off ignition
4.1	Remove front engine cover	ENGINE 157, 276.9, 278 in MODEL 166 ENGINE 276.9 in MODEL 251
4.2	Remove upper engine cover	ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 166, 251
5.1	Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter	ENGINE 157, 276.9, 278 in MODEL 166 ENGINE 276.9 in MODEL 251
5.2	Remove left and right engine air intake duct upstream of air filter	ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 166, 251	AR09.10-P-1150GQC
6	Remove charge air cooler	ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 166, 251	AR09.41-P-6819GQC
7	Remove poly-V belt	ENGINE 157, 278 in MODEL 166	AR13.20-P-0001MLJ

8	Install retaining lock for crankshaft/starter ring gear		AR03.30-P-5000GQ
9	Remove crankshaft center bolt (3)	Replace center bolt for crankshaft (3). Center bolt, belt pulley to crankshaft	*BA03.30-P-1001-01M
10	Detach belt pulley/vibration damper (8) from crankshaft	Place belt pulley/vibration damper (8) on crankshaft and rotate to ensure that the feather key (4) of crankshaft is engaged in the groove on the belt pulley/vibration damper (8).
	Check
11	Check contact surface of the crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5) at hub for belt pulley/vibration damper (8) for scoring and galling	Replace belt pulley/vibration damper (8) if necessary.
12	Check front crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5) and replace if necessary	ENGINE 157, 278 in MODEL 166	AR03.20-P-3000MLJ
12		ENGINE 276 in MODEL 166, 251 When replacing belt pulley/vibration damper (8) or in the event of leakage on the crankshaft radial shaft sealing ring (5).	AR03.20-P-3000GQ
13	Install in the reverse order
	Check
	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
14	Perform an engine test run and check engine for leaktightness
