Remove/install pinion housing with drive pinion - AR33.30-P-0469SYZ

MODEL 204.08/09/28/29/98, 212.08/09/28/29, 218.39

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
IMPORTANT Absolute cleanliness is essential when working on the front axle transmission (1). Even minute dirt particles can prevent the front axle transmission (1) from functioning correctly    
1 Detach propeller shaft from front axle transmission (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT It is essential to observe the tightening torque. Failure to do so will result in noises and vibrations in the front axle transmission.

2 Drain oil out of front axle transmission (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA33.30-P-1008-03G 
3 Remove bolts (2S) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA33.30-P-1004-03G 
4 Pull pinion housing (2) out of front axle transmission (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace the sealing ring (2d). The milled area (f) must face upward to ensure oil flow in the pinion housing. AR33.30-P-0469-01SYZ

5 Fill front axle transmission (1) with oil via opening in pinion housing IMPORTANT The front axle transmission does not have an oil filler hole and must be filled via the opening in the pinion housing.  
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Model 216, 221 *BF33.30-P-1001-03C 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Model 204, 212, 218 *BF33.30-P-1001-03F 
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Universal hypoid gear oils (SAE 85 W-90) Sheet 235.7 BB00.40-P-0235-07A
6 Install in the reverse order    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

7 Perform engine test run and check front axle transmission (1) for leaks and that it is functioning correctly
