	Remove/install
		When working on the front-end assembly, be careful not to scratch, mark or notch the surfaces of aluminum parts. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected
		Installation:  Only tighten bolts and nuts of the chassis components when in ready-to-drive condition.

1	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100SX
2	Release all pressure in front suspension struts (40)	STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnostic system
3	Deactivate easy entry/exit function	Vehicles with memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) code 275	AR54.30-P-1000-02ESX
4	Move front wheels to straight-ahead position and secure steering wheel.	On a disengaged steering coupling (6) the steering wheel should not be turned because the spiral contact coil will be destroyed.	*129589012100

6	Empty power steering expansion reservoir		*210589007100
7	Mount engine hoist		AR33.10-P-0105SX
8	Remove front drive shafts (2)		AR33.30-P-0620SYZ
9	Detach suspension struts (40) from spring control arms (17)		AR32.25-P-1017SYZ
10	Separate steering coupling (6)		AR46.10-P-8000SX
11	Disconnect electrical connector (4d) from SPS solenoid valve (Y10)
12	Remove cable ties (2 pcs.) on electrical feed line to SPS [PML] solenoid valve (Y10) from front axle carrier (31)	Installation:  Install new cable ties.
13	Remove bolts (1a) of engine mounts (3) from front axle carrier (31)	Model 216	*BA22.10-P-1001-03C

14	Detach pressure line (8) from rack-and-pinion steering (4) and front axle carrier (31)	Vehicles without EHPS (electrohydraulic power steering)	AR46.25-P-3015SXA

16	Raise engine with engine hoist	No not apply tension to or damage lines or hoses.
17	Detach vehicle jack support point (19) from front axle carrier (31)
18	Prop front axle carrier (31)
19	Remove bolts (1d) from longitudinal members	Installation:  Install new bolts.	*BA33.10-P-1001-01K
20	Lower front axle carrier (31)
21	Install in the reverse order
	Perform operation steps 22 to 26 only when replacing front axle carrier (31)
22	Detach strut rod (18) from front axle carrier (31)		AR33.15-P-0160SX
23	Detach spring control arm (17) from front axle carrier (31)		AR33.15-P-0170SYZ
24	Detach stabilizer bar (10) from front axle carrier (31)		AR32.20-P-0300SX
25	Detach rack-and-pinion steering (4) from front axle carrier (31)		AR46.20-P-0600SX
26	Detach heat shields (9) and covers (5) from front axle carrier (31)
27	Perform wheel alignment check		AR40.20-P-0200SX
