	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.	Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.	AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1	Remove seat-back lining (1) of left or right front seat		AR91.10-P-1910SC
2	Disconnect ground line at starter battery and on-board electrical system battery		AR54.10-P-0003SX
3	Unclip outer rear paneling (2) (arrows A)
4	Loosen backrest cover (3) at bottom and in the area of sidebag unit (5) (arrows B)
5	Remove bolt (7) at sidebag unit (5) and place ground line (8) to one side		*BA91.60-P-1014-01L
6	Disconnect electrical connector (9).
7	Remove sidebag unit (5)	Installation:  Insert sidebag unit (5) into backrest frame using hook (6). Ensure that sidebag unit pocket (4) of backrest cover (3) is correctly seated. If sidebag unit (5) is replaced, the defective sidebag unit (5) must be disposed of properly. Refer to: ↓

8	Install in the reverse order
9.1	Check supplemental restraint system (SRS) with STAR DIAGNOSIS	Only when replacing sidebag unit (5).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
