	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
1	Remove exhaust gas recirculation pipe (6)		AR14.20-D-1050SG
2	Remove catalytic converter exhaust pipe (1) to exhaust gas turbocharger		AR49.10-D-5529SG
3	Remove rear exhaust gas recirculation pipe (3) from exhaust collector pipe (2)	Installation:  Replace seal (10).

4	Remove clamp (4) on rear exhaust gas recirculation pipes (3) from bracket

5	Unscrew bolt (8) on exhaust pipe (9) from bracket (7)	Engine 642.896

6	Take off bracket (7) at cylinder head	Installation:  Screw in bolt (8) on exhaust pipe (9) before tightening bracket (7).

7	Disconnect oxygen sensor connector (B85/3x1) and expose electrical line
8	Disconnect electrical connector (20) for temperature sensor upstream of CAT (B19/18) and expose electrical line	With engine 642.898
9	Remove bracket (14) from bracket (11)	With engine 642.896
10	Disconnect electrical connector (13) from diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor (B28/20)	With engine 642.896
11	Remove diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor (B28/20) on holder (11)	With engine 642.896 Do not disconnect pressure lines (12).
12	Remove pressure hose (21) from pressure lines (12)	With engine 642.898 Installation:  Check hose clamps, replace if necessary.
13	Remove clamp (5) on rear exhaust gas recirculation pipes (3) from bracket

15	Remove tensioning strap (15) from catalytic converter with diesel particulate filter (16)	Engine 642.896

16	Expose electrical line on temperature sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter (B19/19)
17	Press off catalytic converter with diesel particulate filter (16) and pull at side toward rear	Carefully pull catalytic converter with diesel particulate filter (16) toward rear to prevent damaging electrical line (18), oxygen sensor (B85/3), temperature sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter (B19/19) and pressure lines (12). On engine 642.898 do not damage temperature sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter (B19/19), NOx sensor (19) and pressure hoses (21).
18	Turn rear exhaust gas recirculation pipe (3) and remove
	Clean
19	Clean sealing surfaces on exhaust collector pipe (2)
20	Clean sealing surfaces on rear exhaust gas recirculation pipe (3)	Only if rear exhaust gas recirculation pipe (3) is not replaced.
21	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
22	Test run engine and check exhaust system for leakage
