	Checking
1	Check condition of vehicle	For the wheel alignment check all vehicle parts must be installed and the vehicle build completed ready to drive. The vehicle must not be loaded. The specified values for the vehicle are provided based on the actual values determined by the dimensional check system. The specified tolerances of vehicle specified values are only for the test. If the vehicle is adjusted, the specified values should be aimed for.
2	Check tires for wear pattern, depth of tread and damage	Perform visual inspection.
3	Check rims for damage	Perform visual inspection.
4	Check tire pressure and correct if necessary
5	Check vehicle underside for damage, corrosion of suspension parts, chassis parts and supporting body parts, leaks from major assemblies and lines	Perform visual inspection.
6	Raise front axle and check wheel bearing play without dial indicator
7	Check condition of steering mechanism	Check tie rods, tie rod ball joints and steering coupling.	AP46.00-P-4653F
8	Inspect front axle joint for play, inspect rubber boots		AP33.20-P-3353BA
9	Check rear axle joints for play, check rubber boots
10	Check condition of shock absorbers and springs
11	Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake	The vehicle lift must be horizontal on the measuring station.
12	Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms
13	Raise vehicle level and then lower again	Vehicles with Active Body Control (ABC) or air suspension.
14	Rock vehicle at front and rear axles several times to settle suspension	Vehicles with steel suspension.
