| 1 | Remove driver and passenger seat downward and toward rear | ||

| 3.1 | Insert transmitter key into EIS control unit, actuate parking brake and move selector lever to position "N". | On vehicles with transmission 722 | |
| 4 | Unclip left paneling (2) and right paneling (3) from retaining clips (4) with mounting wedge and remove | Figure | |
| 5 | Remove bolts (5) | ||
| 6 | Open stowage tray in center console | ||
| 7 | Unclip center console cover (1) from instrument panel at top (arrows). | ||
| 8 | Lift center console cover (1) until connectors on electrical connections (6) are accessible. | ||
| 9.1 | Actuate parking brake and move selector lever to position "P" | On vehicles with transmission 722 | |
| 10 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from EIS control unit | Remove Keyless Go transmitter card or transmitter key from vehicle and store beyond reach of transmitter (min. 2 m). |

| 11 | Disconnect connectors from electrical connections (6) and remove center console cover (1). | ||
