Remaining time function - GF00.20-P-2008R

MODEL 230

The remaining time  is the time which is displayed in vehicles with low annual mileage on reaching the warning threshold. This is dependent on the startup time  .

Startup time

The startup time  refers to the service interval in days immediately following the oil change  .

The startup time is not dependent on the driving conditions or any possible oil top-ups.

The startup time is 730 days (JAPAN ONLY 365 days).

The startup time is automatically reset to its initial value by the oil change reset following each oil change. The startup time is an internal  operand, and cannot  be displayed in the instrument cluster (A1). The startup time can only be displayed with Star diagnosis.

Remaining time

The remaining time  is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1) under the conditions named in the following.

The remaining time is the time remaining until the next service.

The remaining time  is only relevant in the case of vehicles with low annual mileage. (The remaining distance  is therefore generally displayed.)

The remaining time is dependent:

IMPORTANT However, topping the oil up has no  influence on the remaining time.

Via these dependencies, ASSYST is also monitored in the case of vehicles with low annual mileage. Depending on evaluation, the service interval in the case of these vehicles is between one and two years.

Warning threshold (in days)

With Star diagnosis, a warning threshold of between five and 30 days, with an increment of one day, can be set for the remaining time. The basic setting is 30 days x (JAPAN ONLY 10 days).

Display of the remaining time

The remaining time is only basically displayed when the condition: remaining time (in days) x 40  < remaining distance (remaining distance in kilometers  ) or remaining time (in days) x 20  < remaining distance (remaining distance in miles  ) has been fulfilled and  the warning threshold has been reached.

The remaining time is then displayed:

The display is carried out with a resolution of one day.

It can be suppressed by actuating the reset button on the instrument cluster (A1).

If ASSYST is missing measurement values, e.g. due to the failure of a sensor, it switches over to stored substitute values. A corresponding entry is made in the diagnostic trouble code memory of the relevant control module.

If the operating voltage fails, the data are retained. However, times without operating voltage (e.g. disconnected battery) are not  recorded, but may be subsequently taken into consideration with Star diagnosis!
