Perform a wheel alignment check - AR40.20-P-0200SX

MODEL 216, 221.0/1 

MEASURING Measuring, adjusting     
1 Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake IMPORTANT The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
2 Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
3 Switch off the easy entry/exit for the driver seat and steering wheel Vehicles with code 275, Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors)
NOTES Otherwise the driver seat and steering wheel move into a different position if the driver door is opened or closed for example. The driver seat may be damaged when the brake pedal jack is installed.
IMPORTANT The system is switched off via the COMAND system.
 
4 Open the driver door, disembark and raise and lower the vehicle level again from outside; to do this, press the vehicle level button on the cockpit switch group IMPORTANT Raising and lowering the vehicle reduces play in the suspension.
Raise: The indicator lamp in the button lights up
Lower: The indicator lamp in the button is Off.
The vehicle must not be loaded again.
 
5 Using the adapter, install the brake pedal retaining tool between the pedal and the driver seat NOTES Protect the brake pedal and driver seat against damage otherwise the brake pedal or driver seat may be damaged.

6 Shift the automatic transmission into position "P" using the selector lever    
7 Open window on driver door and close driver door IMPORTANT Preparations for checking steering lock. The vehicle must not be loaded again.  
8.1 Switch off ignition Model 216, model 221.1 without code Z07 Top protection  
8.2 Remove ignition key from ignition lock and store outside the vehicle Model 221.1 with code Z07 Top protection
NOTESUnder no circumstances store the ignition key in the vehicle  , otherwise it is possible to be shut out of the passenger compartment during the tests
 
9 Attach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
10 Fit on measuring heads    
11 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms    
12 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle using electronic inclinometer and adjust if necessary IMPORTANT Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle. AR40.20-P-0301SX
13 Perform initial measurement    
14 Checking rear axle camber According to results of initial measurement.
IMPORTANT The camber at the rear axle is not adjustable.

15 Adjust rear-axle toe According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0261SX 
16 Adjust camber and caster at the front axle According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0263SX 
17 Adjust front axle toe According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0264SX
18 Check toe-out on turns According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0325SX
19 Perform final measurement    
20 Detach sensors    
21 Detach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
22 Remove brake pedal jack tool with its adapter SPECIAL TOOL Figure

23 Drive vehicle off measuring system    
24 Lock turntables and sliding platforms
