REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1 Lower rear axle.   AR35.10-P-0015SX
2.1 Detach rear axle shafts (14) from connecting flanges Vehicles with screwed-on rear axle shafts (14)
IMPORTANT Move the rear axle shaft (14) into approximately the horizontal position and push together.
Remove rear axle shafts (14) upward at an angle from connecting flanges and tie securely to rear axle carrier (51).		 AR35.30-P-0620SZ
2.2 Remove right rear axle shaft (14) Vehicles with inserted rear axle shafts (14) AR35.30-P-0620SX
3 Support differential (50) with transmission jack and transmission plate and lash down securely    
4 Remove bolts (1) and remove exhaust rubber mount (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Gasoline engine *BA49.10-P-1009-01Z 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Diesel engine *BA49.10-P-1006-01AA 
5 Detach bracket (13h) of controller unit (A13) on front differential mount (8) and detach rear axle carrier (51) Refer to "Remove/install front differential mount (8) on rear axle carrier (51)". AR35.10-P-0051SZ
6 Remove bolt (64b) of rear differential mount and remove bolt (64b) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 216, 221 without code (Z07) Highest protection *BA35.10-P-1004-01M 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 221 with CODE (Z07) Top protection *BA35.10-P-1004-01O 
7 Remove left and right bolts (16) of the front differential mount (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 216, 221 without code (Z07) Highest protection *BA35.10-P-1003-01M 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 221 with code (Z07) Top protection *BA35.10-P-1003-01O 
8 Push left rear axle shaft (14) out of rear axle differential (50) Vehicles with inserted rear axle shafts (14)  
Refer to "Remove/install rear axle shaft (14)". AR35.30-P-0620SX
9 Lower the rear axle differential (50) and remove    
10 Remove bolts (8s) and remove front differential mount (8) from rear axle differential (50) When fitting new rear axle differential (50)  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 216, 221 without code (Z07) Highest protection *BA35.10-P-1007-01M 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 221 with code (Z07) Top protection *BA35.10-P-1007-01O 
11 Remove bolts (54s) and remove adapter (54) from rear axle differential (50) When fitting new rear axle differential (50)  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 216, 221 without code (Z07) Highest protection *BA35.10-P-1006-01M 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 221 with code (Z07) Top protection *BA35.10-P-1006-01O 
12 Detach extension bracket from rear axle differential (50) When fitting new rear axle differential (50)  
Refer to "Remove/install end cover on differential (50)". AR35.31-P-0554SZ 
13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Perform wheel alignment check   AR40.20-P-0200SX
