	Remove/install
	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1	Switch off all electrical consumers, switch off ignition and remove transmitter key (A81) from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)	All electrical consumers must be switched off. Otherwise they may be damaged when the ground line (8) is connected/disconnected.
2	Open load compartment floor (1)		AR68.80-P-5800CY
3	Remove right stowage compartment cover (2) with insert concealed below
4	Remove stowage compartment hazard warning triangle (3) with hazard warning triangle
5	Unscrew nuts (4)
6	Remove bolts (5) and remove cover for additional battery (6)
7	Remove bolt (7) and detach ground line (8) for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) additional battery	Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
8	Remove cover (9) from positive line (10)
9	Using a diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line (10) of ECO start/stop function additional battery and a suitable ground point	If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. In this case the ground line of the on-board electrical system battery should be disconnected.
		Masseleitung der Bordnetzatterie ab-, anschliesen Cover up positive line (10). Risk of short circuit! If there are faults in the on-board electrical system then they have to be rectified first.	AR54.10-P-0003CW
10	Remove bolt (11) and detach positive line (10)
11	Unscrew nut (12) from bracket (13)
12	Swivel bracket (13) upwards
13	Pull off vent hose (14)
14	Remove additional battery for ECO start/stop function from battery holder
15	Install in the reverse order
