Remove/install SAM control unit with fuse and relay box in trunk - AR54.21-P-1258CY

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Buffer the basic data of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) in STAR DIAGNOSIS When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transmit buffered basic data.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only with code (889) Keyless-Go  
3 Remove front load compartment floor (1)   AR68.80-P-5800CY
4 Unscrew nuts (2) from bracket (3)    
5 Unscrew nut (8) from bracket (3)    
6 Unclip electrical wiring harness (4) from bracket (3) (arrow A)    
7 Release fuse holders (6, 7 and 9) on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) (arrows C) and remove IMPORTANT The procedure for releasing the fuse holders
(6, 9) is shown using fuse holder (7) as an example.
 
8 Unscrew bolts (5) from bracket (3)    
9 Lift bracket (3) and rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that no electrical lines are pinched otherwise there is the danger that the electrical system will be damaged.  
10 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) by swiveling it out of the bracket (3) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that the guide pin (arrow B) of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is correctly seated in the bracket (3).  
11 Disconnect all electrical connectors and unclip fuse holders (10, 11) of rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) (arrows C). Then remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). NOTES The electrical connectors which conduct circuit 30 must be disconnected first and contacted last in order to avoid short circuits.
IMPORTANT Fuse holder (10) (with code (220) Parktronic system (PTS) or code (890) EASY-PACK liftgate or code (U80) 115V power outlet in cargo area).
Fuse holder (11) with code (550) Trailer hitch The procedure for releasing the fuse holders (10, 11) is shown using fuse holder (7) as an example.
 
12 Compare the fuse and relay fittings of the new rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) with that of the old rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and adapt fittings if necessary When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
13 Install in the reverse order
