Function

If the vehicle speed drops below approx. 5 km/h, the front SAM control unit (N10) switches the wiper motor (M6/1) down one level. If intermittent wiping is active, the longest wiper interval is selected. If the rain/light sensor (B38/2) is present but defective, a standard reduction takes place (reduction by one stage).

If the vehicle speed increases to faster than approx. 8 km/h, the front SAM control unit automatically switches the wiper motor back to the wiper stage selected at the combination switch (S4).

If a wipe request is issued (intermittent, level 1 or 2 wiping), the speed reduction is suspended until the speed drops below the speed threshold again. The speed reduction is not suspended by wiping or touch wiping.
