| 7 | Completely remove screws/bolts (1), position screws/bolts (1) again and press screws/bolts (1) in direction of arrow so that lock (3) is opened | ||
| 8 | Cover center console with a dry cloth and pull radio (A2) or radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) far enough out of the instrument panel for the electrical connector (2) of the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) to be accessed | ||
| 9 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) of upper control panel control unit (N72/1) | ||
| 10 | Pull radio (A2) or radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) far enough out of instrument panel until electrical connectors or optical fiber connector are accessible on the back of the unit | ||
| 11 | Disconnect electrical connectors and optical fiber connector on back of radio (A2) or radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3), unhook retaining clip and remove radio (A2) or radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3) | ||
| 12 | Remove upper control panel control unit (N72/1) | When replacing radio (A2) or radio with auto pilot system (A2/56) or COMAND controller unit (A40/3). | |
