Empty fuel tank if fuel pump is faulty - AR47.10-P-4000V

MODEL 171 with ENGINE 113.989, 271, 272

REMOVING Remove    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury  to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

1 Open fuel filler flap and filler cap IMPORTANT so that there is no vacuum in the fuel tank when pumping out the fuel.  
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. -
2 Open engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000V
3 Remove engine trim panel Engine 271 -
    Engine 272 AR09.10-P-1150VA
    Engine 113.989 AR09.10-P-1150AC
4 Unscrew the cap from the service valve (2) IMPORTANT In engine 113.989, the service valve is located above the right cylinder bank.  
5 Screw on pressure hose at service valve (2) and release fuel pressure IMPORTANT Use safety tank for collecting the fuel.

6 Unscrew pressure hose from service valve (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure hose Fig 2
7 Unscrew the valve element (3) and connect the extraction hose (4) of the suction master at the service valve (2) COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction master *WE58.40-Z-1001-22A 
  Draining     
8 Connect the grounding line of the suction master at the ground of the vehicle COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction master *WE58.40-Z-1001-22A 
9 Pump fuel with the suction master into the safety tank IMPORTANT Observe manufacturer's operating instructions and notes.  
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Fuel tank capacity *BF47.10-P-1001-01A 
    COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction master *WE58.40-Z-1001-22A 
  Charging     
10 Pump fuel out of the safety tank through the filler hole into the fuel tank COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction master *WE58.40-Z-1001-22A 
INSTALLING Install     
11 Remove grounding line of suction master from vehicle COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction master *WE58.40-Z-1001-22A 
12 Screw valve element (3) into service valve (2) IMPORTANT In engine 113.989, the service valve (2) is located above the right cylinder bank.  
13 Screw on cap at service valve (2)    
14 Reinstall engine cover - -
    Engine 272 AR09.10-P-1150VA
    Engine 113.989 AR09.10-P-1150AC

15 Close engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000V
16 Screw on filler cap and close fuel filler flap
