	Remove/install
	Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.	Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.	AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

1	Turn key in ignition lock to position "0"	On vehicles with Keyless-Go, code 889: Press keyless go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off
2	Open engine hood and raise to vertical position		AR88.40-P-1000GZ
3	Pull off intake air duct (1)
4	Clean ESP hydraulic unit (2) in the area of the line connections	Before opening the brake system the area around the connection point should be cleaned thoroughly. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system
5	Unscrew union nuts for pressure circuit and secondary brake circuit (3) and union nuts for brake lines (4) of ESP hydraulic unit (2)	Before detaching, mark brake lines relative to the corresponding line connection, in the process observe the markings on the ESP hydraulic unit (2). Trace line routing to the corresponding wheel. Collect any brake fluid which runs out in a fluff-free, absorbent cloth. Seal brake lines and line connections on the ESP hydraulic unit (2) immediately with stop plugs in order to prevent the ingress of foreign objects. Do not mix up brake lines, observe markings.

6	Unlock ESP control unit connector (5) and detach from ESP control unit (N47-5)
7	Pull ESP hydraulic unit (2) with bracket of ESP hydraulic unit (6) out of rubber mounts (8)	Flush off brake fluid which runs out in the area of the longitudinal frame member with water in order to avoid paint damage. Coat rubber mounts (8) with liquid lubricant for the purposes of easier installation

8	Attach adhesive pad to protect the A/C line at bracket of ESP hydraulic unit (6)
9	Detach bracket of ESP hydraulic unit (6) from ESP hydraulic unit (2); for this purpose remove bolts (7)		*BA42.45-P-1003-01J

11	Install in the reverse order
