Open engine hood, move to upright position and close - AR88.40-P-1000GZ

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
  Open engine hood     
1 Pull lever (1) in left side of footwell to unlock the engine hood (2) IMPORTANT Engine hood (2) pops open, if necessary slight lift engine hood.  
2 Pull handle (3) out of radiator grille as far as the stop and open engine hood IMPORTANT Do not lift on handle (3). The windshield wiper arms must not be folded forward.  
  Move to upright position     
3 Press red release button (4) on gas-operated strut and position engine hood (2) upright.    
  Close engine hood     
4 Press red release button (4) on gas-operated strut and lower engine hood (2) until it is positioned at an angle.    
5 Close engine hood (2) IMPORTANT Place hands only on front edges of engine hood (2).  
6 Pull engine hood (2) upward with a jerk to check locking function of engine hood lock.
