	Remove/install
1	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key (A8/1) or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)	KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go.
2.1	Open stowage compartment (2)	On vehicles without code (523) Audio 20 MB radio or without code (510) Audio 20 including CD changer or without code (525) Audio 50 APS MB radio or without code (511) Audio 50 APS including DVD changer or without code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or without code (512) COMAND APS including DVD changer
2.2	Fold up Audio/COMAND display (A40/8)	In vehicles with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio or with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer or with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio or with code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer or with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation system) or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
3	Perform emergency unlocking at Audio/COMAND display (A40/8)	On vehicles up to model year 2012 / YoM 11, with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation system) or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer, if the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) cannot be folded up. 4	Remove stop buffer (3)
5	Remove insert (7)	In vehicles with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio or code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer or code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio or code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer Insert (7) is bonded and must be replaced. Installation : Remove adhesive residues at the center air vent (1) and Audio/ COMAND display housing (A40/8).
5	Remove insert (7)	Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 I	*BR00.45-Z-1010-06A
6	Insert an extraction hook (4) into the openings (arrows) and pull the center air vent (1) out of the dashboard	Pulling hook	Fig 3
7	Disconnect electrical connector (5)	On vehicles with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS including DVD changer.
8	Disconnect electrical connectors (6) and remove center air vent (1)
9	Install in the reverse order
