Mirror lens adjustment left/right outside mirror, function - GF88.79-P-2008CE
MODEL 204.0/2 as of model year 2009
/YoM 08
MODEL 204.3
MODEL 204.9
Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
- Storage of mirror glass position not active
- Valid mirror selection available
The electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) transmits the circuit status c. 15 via the interior CAN (CAN B).
Mirror glass adjustment left/right outside mirror, general
The outside mirror glasses can be adjusted electrically in sequence with the mirror glass adjustment switch.
The left/right outside mirror glass adjustment comprises the following partial functions:
- Adjust mirror glass function sequence
- Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass positions (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))
Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The left outside mirror (M21/1) and right outside mirror (M21/2) can be adjusted manually with the driver side power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (S20)
The corresponding outside mirror is selected via the left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10) or right mirror adjustment switch (S20s11).
The selected outside mirror is indicated by an LED in the corresponding outside mirror adjustment switch.
The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror adjustment switch S20s12. The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.
The adjustment request is read in via front door LIN (LIN B5) by the left front door control unit (N69/1), which relays the information for the right outside mirror to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit actuates the following components:
- Vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m1)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m2)
The right front door control unit actuates the following components:
- Vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m1)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m2)
Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass positions (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))
The partial function storing/calling mirror glass position comprises the following subfunctions:
- Store mirror glass position function sequence
- Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
Store mirror glass position function sequence
The manually adjusted position of the mirror glasses can be stored via the following switches located in the left front seat adjustment switch group (S22):
- Left front memory 1 switch (S22s7)
- Left front memory 2 switch (S22s8)
- Left front memory 3 switch (S22s9)
The storage request is read in by the left front door control unit via the left door LIN and relayed to the driver seat control unit (N32/1) via the interior CAN.
Procedure for storing:
- Adjust mirror glasses as desired
- Actuate left front memory switch function (S22s6) for t < 40 ms
- Actuate memory switch within t < 3 s
This stores the current positions of the mirror glasses in the respective front door control unit on the basis of the values of:
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1 r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1 r3)
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3)
A blockage detection is carried out with the help of the position detection. The adjustment is terminated immediately if a blockage is detected. Blockage detection is performed only with programmed adjustment.
Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
A stored mirror position can be called up via one of the memory switches.
For this purpose, actuate one of the memory switches until the stored position is reached.
Actuation of the memory switch is read in by the left front door control unit via the left door LIN and relayed to the driver seat control unit via the interior CAN.
This requests the interior CAN to actuate the front door control unit to move to the stored position.
