Remove/install tilting/sliding roof frame - AR77.20-P-3000CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Detach headliner and lay down on seats Model 204.0 AR68.30-P-4300CW
Model 218
1.2 Remove headliner Model 204.2 AR68.30-P-4300CX
Model 212.2
1.3 Loosen headliner and lay down on seat with electrical wiring harness connected Model 212.0 / 1
IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (882) Interior monitoring (only with ATA) it is not necessary to disconnect the electrical connector to put down the headliner on vehicles with code (287) Through-loading feature or side bolster on vehicles with code (287). It is not necessary to remove the rear seat backrests.

2 Remove water drain hoses (2) on left and right side of tilting/sliding roof frame (1)    
3 Disconnect electrical connector from tilting/sliding roof    
4 Remove grab handle (3) on left and right side of vehicle Model 204, 212  
5 Remove console (4) on left and right side of vehicle Model 204, 212  
6 Insert one pliers (5) each into corresponding openings (arrows) on left and right side of tilting/sliding roof frame (1). SPECIAL TOOL Pliers Fig 3
7 Remove bolts (6) IMPORTANT Bolts (6) remain on tilting/sliding roof frame (1).  
8.1 Remove pliers (5) and remove tilting/sliding roof frame (1) through door cutout in right rear door from vehicle Model 204, 212
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.

8.2 Remove pliers (5) and remove tilting/sliding roof frame (1) through door cutout in passenger door from vehicle Model 218
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.

9 Install in the reverse order    
10 Normalize tilting/sliding roof IMPORTANT Close tilting/sliding roof with tilting/sliding roof switch. Continue to hold tilting/sliding roof for min. 1 s in this position. Then move tilting/sliding roof to tilt position "OPEN" until end position is reached. Continue to hold tilting/sliding roof for min. 1 s in this position. Then close tilting/sliding roof.  
11 Connect Star Diagnosis, read out fault memory, perform teach-in run for sliding roof anti-pinch protection   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
