	Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components.	AS00.00-Z-0009-01A

1	Remove paneling (3)	Model 164.1	AR68.30-P-4800GZ
		Model 164.8	AR68.30-P-4800RT
2	Cut the insulation mat (4) in the area of the upper fastening of the shock absorber (1) and fold up	Carefully cut the insulation mat (4) and fold up. Otherwise the paint or the insulation mat (4) will be damaged. Cut length (C) approx. 12 cm. Right side: Do not damage the wiring harness of the ADS body sensor! Seal cut in insulation mat (4) using duct tape.
3	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100GZ
4	Detach rear complete wheel

5	Cut out cutout for shock absorber (1) on the fender liner (6)		AR88.10-P-1400-01GZ
		If shock absorbers (1) without protective pipe are replaced with shock absorbers (1) with protective pipe, it is necessary to cut out the fender liner (6) in the area of the protective pipe.
6	Release and disconnect electrical connection (7)	Model 164 with code 489 (AIRMATIC)
7	Raise wheel suspension at supporting joint slightly

		Wheel suspension must be supported. Otherwise the steel spring may come out or the air spring can be damaged.
8	Remove ADS body sensor with bracket	Model 164 with code 489 (AIRMATIC)
9	Unscrew nuts (5)	Self-locking nut, shock absorber to frame floor	*BA32.25-P-1002-03K
10	remove screw/bolt (8)	The lug of the bracket (11) must engage in the hole of the shock absorber (1) (arrow B).
		Self-locking nut, shock absorber to spring control arm	*BA32.25-P-1001-03K
11	Slide damper (1) together and remove	Remove shock absorber (1) with cover plate (9) and remove sealing rings (10).
12	Remove sealing rings (10) and cover plate (9) from shock absorber (1)	Replace sealing rings (10).
	Check
13	Check cover plate (9) and upper rubber bushing (13)	Check the condition and whether there is any damage, replace if necessary.

15	Install in the reverse order
