Trailer operation

Function requirements:

Function

A trailer mode has been detected and this in turn influences the AIRmatic system as follows:

  1. Vehicle runs at highway level only
  2. High speed level no longer accessible.
  3. If the driver fails to lower the vehicle manually, the vehicle is automatically lowered to the highway level at 5 mph or lower.

IMPORTANT The trailer can only be unhitched from the vehicle when the AIRmatic control unit is active. This is not necessary for a trailer with low tongue weight capacity.

Comfort/Sport switch (ADS)

The driver can program the damping level as desired using the Comfort/Sport switch (ADS):

  1. "AUTO"  Skyhook mode
  2. "SPORT"  Firm damping
  3. "COMFORT"  Soft damping
