Perform chassis alignment - AR40.20-P-0200T

MODEL 211.0/2/6 

MEASURING Measuring, adjusting     
1 Drive vehicle onto test site and secure by applying parking brake IMPORTANT The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
2 Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
3.1 Select comfort optimization with the adaptive damping system switch on the center console Vehicles with AIRmatic (semi-active air suspension), code 489
IMPORTANT Both indicator lamps in the switch are off.
 
4.1 Deactivate easy entry/exit feature Vehicles with memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors) code 275
NOTES Otherwise the driver seat and steering wheel move into a different position if the driver door is opened or closed for example. The driver seat can be damaged when the brake pedal jack is installed SPECIAL TOOL .
IMPORTANT The system is switched off via the buttons on the steering wheel in the "Comfort" menu of the multifunction display.
 
5.1 Open driver door, get out and raise the vehicle level and lower it again using the vehicle level switch on the center console Vehicles with AIRmatic (semi-active air suspension), code 489
IMPORTANT Raising and lowering the vehicle reduces play in the suspension. The vehicle must not be loaded again.
 
6 Using the adapter, install the brake pedal retaining tool between the pedal and the driver's seat NOTES Protect the brake pedal and driver seat otherwise the brake pedal or driver seat may be damaged.

7.1 Place the transmission in neutral Vehicles with transmission 716  
7.2 Move selector lever to position "P" Vehicles with transmission 722  
8 Open window on driver door and close driver door IMPORTANT Preparations for checking steering lock. The vehicle must not be loaded again.  
9 Switch off ignition    
10 Attaching Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230I 
11 Fit on measuring heads    
12 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms    
13 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle with electronic inclinometer, adjust if necessary IMPORTANT Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle. AR40.20-P-0301T 
14 Perform initial measurement    
15.1 Checking rear axle camber According to results of initial measurement.
IMPORTANT The camber on the rear axle is not adjustable.

16.1 Adjust rear-axle toe According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0261T 
17.1 Adjust camber and caster at the front axle According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0263T 
18.1 Adjust front axle toe According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0264T 
19 Perform final measurement    
20 Detach sensors    
21 Detach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230I 
22 Remove brake pedal jack tool with its adapter SPECIAL TOOL *000589183100

23 Drive vehicle off measuring system    
24 Lock turntables and sliding platforms
