Remove/install front fenders - AR88.10-P-1000T

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Open engine hood and move to upright position   AR88.40-P-1000T 
2 Raise vehicle with lifting platform   AR00.60-P-1000T
3 Remove fender liner in front fender (1)   AR88.10-P-1300T 
4 Remove expansion clips (2) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace damaged expansion clips (2).  
5 Open front door    
6 Detach longitudinal member paneling (3) in front area from longitudinal member with mounting wedge IMPORTANT Until nuts (4) are accessible.  
SPECIAL TOOL *110589035900
7 Unscrew nuts (4) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Repair paint damage on nuts (4) with suitable touch-up paint pen.  
8 Loosen bolt (5), slide terminal strip (6) toward front and remove    
9 Lower vehicle    
10 Unscrew bolt (7) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Repair paint damage on bolt (7) with touch-up paint pen.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA88.10-P-1002-01B 
11.1 Unscrew bolt (9) On model 211.08/28 up to vehicle end no. 180000 and model 211 except 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 746677, if mount on front fender (1) is not yet replaced.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Repair paint damage on bolt (9) with touch-up paint pen.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA88.10-P-1002-01B 
12 Close front door    
13 Remove bolts (8) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Repair paint damage on bolts (8) with suitable touch-up paint pen.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA88.10-P-1002-01B 
14 Remove front fender (1) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that front fender (1) is positioned correctly in relation to the front door, engine hood and front headlamp unit.  
Gap between engine hood and fender, dimension "A" *BE60.00-P-1001-01F 
Front door to fender, dimension "E" *BE60.00-P-1002-01F

15.1 Remove dust filter housing When initially replacing front fender (1) on model 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 180000 and model 211 except 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 746677.  
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Replace dust filter Vehicles with code 581 Comfort automatic air conditioning up to VIN end no. A635991 X170336 AP83.00-P-8381T
15.2 Remove combination filter housing When initially replacing front fender (1) on model 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 180000 and model 211 except 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 746677.  
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Replace combination filter Vehicles with code 580 Automatic air conditioning or
Vehicles with code 581 Comfort automatic air conditioning
as of VIN end no. A635992 X170337

16.1 Remove washer fluid reservoir When initially replacing front fender (1) on model 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 180000 and model 211 except 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 746677. AR82.35-P-6000-02T
17.1 Transfer mount on A-pillar for front fender (1). When initially replacing front fender (1) on model 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 180000 and model 211 except 211.08/28 up to vehicle ident. end no. 746677. AR88.10-P-1010-01T

18 Install in the reverse order
