		Before opening the hydraulic system the area surrounding the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system.

8	Turn steering wheel into center position (front wheels in straight-ahead position) and fix in position with retaining device	On a disengaged steering coupling (6) the steering wheel should not be turned because the spiral contact coil will be destroyed	Fig 4

12	Pry clamping plate (9) off rack-and-pinion steering (10) and pull out oil lines (13, 14)	Installation: Replace O-rings.	Fig 2

14	Support rack-and-pinion steering (10) and secure to prevent it from falling down
15	Remove bolt (10c) from additional bracket or additional mounting of rack-and-pinion steering (10) to front axle carrier (3)	Model 204.9	*BA46.20-P-1010-01N
16	Detach rack-and-pinion steering (10) from front axle carrier (3) by unscrewing bolts (10a, 10b)	Engine 156: The retaining plate (8) is fastened with 4 bolts (10a) on the front axle carrier (3).

18	Install in the reverse order
