Power windows (PW [EFH]), function - GF72.29-P-0003T

MODEL 211.0/2

Function requirements

Function overview

Function using power window operating switch

Operation or activation via the driver power window switch group (S20/1) cannot be influenced by other operating switches. An activation or an already active function of another switch is terminated if a new request for the corresponding window is received from the driver-side power window switch group (S20/1).

If pinching is recognized, reversing is performed. Once a reversal is activated it cannot be interrupted. Once the reversing action has ended, the desired adjustment can be made by again pressing the driver side power window switch group (S20/1).

Hierarchy of control commands:

A control command with higher priority is performed if a power window function with lower priority is currently active. This applies only if the function requirements for the higher priority requests are fulfilled.

A control command with lower priority cannot affect an active power window function of higher priority.

After a higher priority function has ended, any lower priority control command still active will be ignored. The neutral position of the lower priority control command must first be detected before the corresponding function is activated.

Priority 1: Central locking via MSS alarm

Triggering a MSS alarm leads to termination of all active functions of lower priority The vehicle is "locked" corresponding to the data stored in the multifunction control unit for special vehicles (MSS) (N26/9).

Priority 2: Driver-side power window switch group (S20/1)

When control commands are accomplished via the driver side power window switch group (S20/1) the first switch actuation causes the abort of any active lower priority function. The second switch actuation activates the function.

Priority 3: All PW switches except the driver-side power window switch group (S20/1)

When control commands are accomplished using other control switches than the driver power window switch group (S20/1), the first switch actuation causes the abort of any already active function with lower priority.

The second switch actuation activates the function.

Each switch has access only to the power window motor assigned to it.

Priority 4: Central locking/opening via infrared signal

Priority 5: Automatic window closing/opening via recirculated air pushbutton

IMPORTANT The above function sequences are carried out by the respective door control units.
