Standing lamp actuation

Function

The driver-side SAM control unit directly reads in the rotary light switch position and forwards the request over CAN-B to the following control units:

Actuations

IMPORTANT If the transmitter key (A8/1) is removed and the driver door opened, a lights-on warning is issued by the instrument cluster.

Lights on warning

Function

The logic for actuation of the warning buzzer (A1h1) is stored in the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster receives the signal for an active standing lamp function over CAN-B from the driver-side SAM control unit and links this information with the signals from the left front door contact switch (S17/3) and the headlamp switch-off delay.

The warning buzzer for automatic headlamps actuation is actuated when the driver door is opened and the standing lamps function is active, circuit 15R Off (transmitter key inserted) and the headlamp switch-off delay inactive.

Parking lamp actuation

Function requirements

Function

The driver-side SAM control unit reads in the rotary light switch position and places the corresponding request on CAN-B.

Left parking lamp

The left standing and parking lamp is actuated by the driver-side SAM control unit.

The rear SAM control unit receives the "Left parking lamp On" request over CAN-B and switches on the left taillamp (with model 211.0) or the left stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (with model 211.2).

Right parking lamp

The front passenger-side SAM control unit and the rear SAM control unit receive the request over CAN-B.

The right standing and parking lamp is switched on by the front passenger-side SAM control unit.

The rear SAM control unit switches on the right taillamps (with model 211.0) or the right stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (with model 211.2).

Vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch

The trailer connection unit [AAG] control unit receives the request over CAN-B and switches the corresponding trailer light on over the AHV socket.
