	Remove/install
	Notes on avoiding damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
	The SAM control unit (7) of the assembly front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) can be removed or replaced separately. See steps 1.1 to 7.1.
1.1	Temporarily store basic data from the SAM control unit (7) in STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the SAM control unit (7). Installation  : Transfer basic data stored temporarily to the new SAM control unit (7).
		Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnostic system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Switch off ignition and detach transmitter key or Keyless Go start/stop button from EIS [EZS] control unit	Keyless Go start/stop button only for vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go.
3	Remove cover (1)	On vehicles with control unit in cover (1): Place cover (1) to one side with control unit installed and connected
4	Separate electrical connectors (3, 5) and fuse holders from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)	The number of fuse holders (A) depends on the vehicle equipment.
5	Remove bolts (4), raise front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and place to one side
6	Separate electrical connectors (B) from SAM control unit (7)	The number of electrical connectors (B) depends on the vehicle equipment.
7.1	Unlock SAM control unit (7) (arrows) and remove	When replacing SAM control unit (7) separately.
8	Disconnect ground line at starter battery and on-board electrical system battery		AR54.10-P-0003SX
9	Separate positive leads (6) and electrical connectors (C) from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)	The number of electrical connectors (C) depends on the vehicle equipment.
10	Remove front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
11.1	Compare the fuse and relay components provided of the new front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) with the old front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1), adapt components provided if necessary	When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
12	Install in the reverse order
