8.4.04 Check and adjustment method modified Step 8
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped  or crushed  when working on partially open Vario roof (stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool. -
1 Move Vario roof to intermediate position and secure IMPORTANT Position of C-pillars approx. 90° AR77.50-P-3000-01V

2 Completely move left front seat and right front seat toward front IMPORTANT See Operating Instructions  
3 Unclip control cable (1) from gate valve (2) (arrow B)    
4 Tap mount (3) on control cable (1) upward with plastic hammer and mounting wedge and remove from gate valve (2) SPECIAL TOOL Figure
5 Unhook tension spring (4) and remove    
6 Take off gate valve (2)    
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Check position of eccentric bolts (5) in relation to gate valve (2), correct if necessary. IMPORTANT The eccentric bolt (5) should make contact to the bottom hook (arrow C) on the gate valve (2) when the Vario roof is closed and locked. Moreover, the eccentric bolt (5) should run into the gate valve (2) at least half the way. The eccentric bolt (5) should run into the gate valve (2) so that a gap (A) is still visible at the rear of the gate valve (2). If necessary, turn eccentric bolt (5).  
9 Check control cable adjustment (1), correct if necessary.   AR77.33-P-3470V
