Adjust control cable for C-pillar lock - AR77.33-P-3470V

MODIFICATION NOTES

8.4.04 Check and adjustment method modified All steps
INSPECT Check     
1 Lock and unlock front lock (2) with Vario roof actuation switch once when Vario roof is closed. IMPORTANT Stop locking when front lock (2) is completely unlocked and before the Vario roof starts raising.  
2 Check position of gate valve (3) when front lock (2) is unlocked. IMPORTANT Eccentric bolt (5) should be located 1 to 3 mm in front of tip of gate valve (4) with front lock (2) unlocked. When checking, the feeler gauge (7) should positioned at right angle to the main arm (8). The control cable (1) is tensioned when the front lock (2) is unlocked. *BE77.33-P-1007-01A

REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove paneling from Vario roof front section (6)   AR68.30-P-4350V
  Adjust     
4 Disconnect clip (9) from counter bearing (10) and adjust control cable (1) by moving in the corresponding direction. Then install clip-type fastener (9) IMPORTANT If the determined dimension between the tip of the gate valve (4) and the eccentric bolt (5) is less than 1 mm, the control cable (1) has too much play and should be moved in the direction of the arrow (B).
If the determined dimension between the tip of the gate valve (4) and the eccentric bolt (5) is greater than 3 mm, the control cable (1) has too much play and should be moved in the direction of the arrow (C).

INSPECT Check     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped  or crushed  when working on partially open Vario roof (stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool. -
5 Remove support for securing intermediate position of Vario roof and lay Vario roof front section (6) down toward front IMPORTANT The Vario roof lowers by itself after removing the support For this reason, hold Vario roof front section (6) to prevent uncontrolled lowering

6 Check adjustment of control cables (1), repeat adjustment if necessary IMPORTANT It is not necessary to unlock and lock front lock (2) before checking  
INSTALLING Install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped  or crushed  when working on partially open Vario roof (stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool. -
7 Move Vario roof into intermediate position and secure   AR77.50-P-3000-01V
