REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by release of spring in the automatic belt retractor is released. Never disassemble automatic belt retractors. AS91.00-Z-0002-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag unit with deployment face up, do not subject to temperatures above 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbags and ETR units   AH91.00-P-0002-01M
NOTES Assessment of airbag and belt tensioner units in accident vehicles   AH91.00-P-0006-01B
    NOTES Before opening and closing the center door open front and rear door. Center door should be should be slammed, not pushed closed.  
IMPORTANT Legal requirements on handling and storing airbags and emergency tensioning retractor units   AH91.00-P-0004-01A
1 Remove rear seat backrest   AR91.12-P-1620SXE
2 Connect ground line to starter battery and to on-board electrical system battery   AR54.10-P-0003SX
3 Mask off insertion tongue (6) IMPORTANT If the seat belt will be reinstalled.  
4 Remove trim ring of belt guide (4)    
5 Remove heat restraints IMPORTANT Pull head restraint vertically upwards from partition wall cover (5).  
6 Remove head restraint guides    
7 Remove partition wall cover (5)    
8 Remove screw/bolt (1) from belt end fitting (2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that belt end fitting (2) is seated properly in its catch.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1001-01O 
9 Remove left and right sealing rail at partition wall window    
10 Detach plug-in connection (8)    
11 Remove screw/bolt (9) at automatic belt retractor (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1006-01O 
12 Guide seat belt (3) along partition wall    
13 Guide catch (10) of automatic belt retractor (7) out of partition wall (arrow A)    
14 Guide automatic belt retractor (7) downward (arrow B)    
15 Tilt automatic belt retractor (7) in direction of travel    
16 Extend automatic belt retractor (7) downward INSTALLATION NOTES Mask off insertion tongue (6) using adhesive tape, as otherwise it may be damaged during installation.  
REFER TO FORMS Notes on disposing of airbag and emergency tensioning retractor units   OS91.00-P-0001-01A
17 Install in the reverse order
